THE LOUVRE HEIST

Whatever you may think about it, the recent Louvre heist (October 19th 2025) of French crown jewels highlights the value of jewellery and the need for protecting irreplaceable treasures. That value extends to more than ‘monetary’ worth – it includes sentiment, history, heritage and exclusivity.  For national treasures the onus for protection lies with the governing bodies and institutions. That protection should be reliable, robust and impenetrable. Systems in place need to fend off assaults from visible and invisible attack. Sadly, the Louvre security system failed in the recent heist.

On a personal level, we take action to protect our own valuable and irreplaceable  items. This includes taking out insurance, locking up jewels not worn on our person or depositing them in safe keeping.

The advent of Fonya has introduced another option – a wearable safe for rings with high value (both sentimental and monetary). Fonya holds your rings securely when off your fingers for any reason – work, sports, gardening, travel etc – and, moreover, keeps them up close and personal so they never leave your possession. Now that’s what I call security.
